Navigating megatrends from the boardroom. “Modern disruptors like climate change, geopolitical instability and evolving cybersecurity regulations introduce risk, complexity and uncertainty to the business environment. The result is increased need for board oversight and expertise. This requires directors to be knowledgeable about these important trends, the varying impact that may occur based on industries and a boardroom culture that challenges the status quo. To preserve shareholder value, the board may need to reexamine governance norms, increase agility and responsiveness and require more frequent reporting from management on critical risk factors.”
